In the olden days, this barangay was famous of an enchanted mortar, Mortar in the local dialect is “LUZONG”. The enchanted Mortar helped people very much. When the people in this barangay put palay in the mortar without using pestle, the palay would readily turn into a clean rice. So, from far and near who would like to have clean rice out of their palay would say in the dialect “Moadto to sa “LUZONG”. As time went on the name “LUZONG” has been adopted to name the place. So, the “LUZONG” had been carried until this time and may be would not change even in the future as name of this barangay.
